The map of Chinese sonic art or sonic experiment in recent years made an remarkable step of the Chinese scene. We can see some of the artist start to go overseas for touring and participating in various exhibition or projects. Fm3, one of the famous duo, they gained westen music critics' attention and the attention about Chinese sonic art. Also, Wong Changcun (王長存) released his record by Subrosa, one of the well-known and well-respected record label. Also, noise group Torturing Nurse use their endless energy to produce tones of work of these years. As we can see, the map is going bigger and bigger.

In this research, we are going in deep for the chinese sonic scene, studying some of the artist works, interviewing artists (if it is possible) and try to draw the blue print (the influence, the origin) of the chinese sonic experiment and its culture.

Questions:

1. firstly, we have to define what is sonic art?

2. is there any difference between westen style of sonic art?

3. What are those chinese doing? installation? Performance?

This is still very genral thoughts. Hope it has more discussion for some issues.

Very General Ideas of Research Project: Players, Rules and Games

Game reflects the world. In the game world, it has its own discipline to maintain balance, stability and the system of the world. Players have to obey the rules when they are playing game, just like they have to obey the law that is imposed by governemnt. Rules of the game seems are the same with the law of the real world. However, is it totally true?

Rules is existed when we play game. We have to follow the rules, learning how to obey the rules and make sure that we are not cheat the game or violate the rules. However, when we play, are we really need to follow the original rules that is imposed or created by someone? In some situation like playing UNO, Ma Jong etc, we have different kind of versions and interpretation of rules of the games. Rules can be re-interpreted, re-defined and created based on the structure of the game by the players themselves.

In this research project, we are going in deep of the issue on the relationship between rules, players and game.

For this project, There are few question I going to ask myself:

1. How do we created or re-define the rules of the game?

2. Rules are not static but dynamic in status, what's the reason behind the status if it is true?

3. is it relate to any cultural issue ?

4. what kind of game do I need to research?

5. experiment with some games?

6. including virtual games?

There are some more question and areas to explore.......
